Good Faith Estimate:
Colorado recently passed a “No Suprises”/Good Faith Estimate that mandates health care providers to provide an estimate for services to individuals who are paying for care out of pocket. This good faith estimate is based on information that is known at the time and does not include unexpected or unknown services. You are entitlted to a good faith estimate in writing at least one day prior to receiving services and can ask a provider for this prior to receiving treatment. If your bill is at least $400 more than your good faith estimate, you are entitled to dispute the bill. For questions or more information visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
